"The Lady Lane Unloads"

Oil on Canvas Board.

I painted this on a very bright day at approx 2:00pm Probably not the best of lighting conditions. The High Sun flattens the composition out. It was done at the State Fish Pier Here in Gloucester, ma. The colors on my Palette were; Cadium yellow light, Cad Red Light, Phtalo Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Yellow Ochre, Cad Orange.

Robert Gruppe

The "TECLA"

Robert Gruppe

I met Robert Gruppe during Sail Gloucester 2009 at the Gorton's Wharf. We were both Taking photos of the Tall Ships. I'm a big Fan of his Work. I've never met Robert before, He's a very friendly Guy. He was waiting for the Moon to rise over the State fish Pier before he started painting. He uses an old "Gloucester Easel". He had his easel up and he was painting within 3 minutes. The first photo is of the "TECLA" tied up at the State Fish Pier.
This was the Scene he started painting.
He has a beautiful Gallery on Rocky Neck you can visit.
You can check out his website here; http://www.gruppegallery.com/Robert.htm
